No idea what it was, looks like a ute. Had mazda wheels. Also it had a center exit exhaust... Pretty customized I'd say. Wish I could have stuck around to check it out more.
EDIT: This is in the midwest. Not australia!
EDIT 2: Thanks Takuro, it's definitely a modded Mazda 6. Build thread: !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

It has a Mazda 6 front end so maybe it was based off one.

Where? No badging? Looks like a Holden, maybe?
![]() 10/13/2013 at 20:42 |

Yeah I thought that was a 6 front end... NO idea, but it looks interesting for sure.

Ute!

Edited to include where... Pretty sure it's not a ute.

What in fuck.
Definitely a 6 front end, and that sure looks like a Holden Ute's ass.

I don't think so, it looks like one but had quite a few differences. Just remembered some - editing main post.

Holy shit my friend told me about that! I thought he was kidding. Yeah, someone took a 6 and cut the ass off. I hope it wasn't a wagon.... them things are rare enough.

Sweet! Someone else heard about it too... I really wanted to check it out more. You know how much that must have cost? Why!? lol

Exactly my reaction when I saw it. What in the fuck!? From far I thought it was a Ute, then got closer and was very confused.

Oh, and:
![]() 10/13/2013 at 20:50 |

I think it's inspired by a Holden ute, but the proportions are all wrong. Nasty shit.

I have no idea, but since I work at a Mazda dealer (probably close to where this was taken) I want to know more about this dude.

HAHA WUT!?
![]() 10/13/2013 at 20:52 |

I'm pretty sure it's not a Holden Ute, the proportions just don't work, the lines are off. Have no idea what it actually is.
Real deal

Meh.

Well, its definitely a ute . Its probably not a factory job, but still...

Before Takuro found it, I was going to add that those Altezza-style taillights are for a '94-'04 S10/Sonoma.

Anyone know if it's received a RWD conversion or not? If it's still FWD, then it's kinda useless... IMHO.

even though we now know what it is, it still looks like a bizarro VS and VE mashup ute to me.

Someone's gotta get this guy on here.
One of us. One of us. One of us.

It's pretty well done, but why? A modern Dodge Rampage? What good is a FWD Ute? I'd at least use a RWD, if not AWD donor.
![]() 10/13/2013 at 21:52 |

Its a Mazda 6 chassis and front to the b-pillar, VE commodore c-pillar, rear glass and upper rear quarter and Blazer rear lower quarter and custom rear box, gate and bumper
Not a Holden Ute outright, as Holden never made the Ute LHD to my knowledge.

My internet is screwed up right now, but from what saw in the build thread, drive train appears completely stock.

Looks good, but I'd rather see it with taillights from a Mazda5, BT50, B-series, Tribute, CX-7, or Protege5, or use a B-Series/Ranger rear instead of an s-10.. Also would have started with a Mazdaspeed6, but that's me. Or use a 6 hatch or wagon as the donor. Dunno. Probably wouldn't use a 6 to start with, as much as I like my wife's.
Where in the midwest? Would love to see it in person.

Yeah the tails are ugly, and definitely would be cool with more performance. Was in Wisconsin.
![]() 10/13/2013 at 23:29 |

That knocks a lot off of it's cool factor, IMHO...

I lold but I completely agree
